Imagine your nervous system is rumpled velvet with the pile rubbed the wrong way.

Inhale, and place your hands on a part of the body that feels ragged, tight, or anxious. Exhale, and gently smooth your hands across the body part. Visualize your hands smoothing out the velvet.

Repeat, or move onto another body part.
